Message from the President
Japan Plus was established with the desire to bring food grown in the rich region of Kumamoto Prefecture not only to Japan, but also to the rest of the world.
Today, Japan’s major cities are lined with restaurants from all over the world, and local products can be purchased at local specialty stores.
Foreign travelers are also moving from the city centers to the countryside, and are becoming more interested in the environment, air, and culture that can only be found in the countryside.
Our company offers services and sells food and other products that can be enjoyed by people in Japan and abroad by planning projects involving local producers.
In addition to sales of food products, we also provide support to producers using IT technology, including the provision of sensors and the construction of analytical platforms,
We also offer products that are 100% organic, so that everyone can pick them up with peace of mind in a world where quality and safety are in high demand.

Wataru Umehara
Born in Neyagawa City, Osaka in 1992.
After graduating from Doshisha University, Faculty of Economics, gained practical experience at a major Sierra firm.
Appointed as Representative Director in 2021.

Communicate producers’ thoughts directly to consumers through digital media, shorten the distance between production areas and consumption areas, and plan and develop market-in commercial products.

Achievements
- Developed Owner Tree in collaboration with KICHIJIEN and TSURUDA Organic Farm through the crowdfunding service MAKUAKE.(Marketing, communication with consumers, and small-lot direct sales)
To communicate with consumers, first install security cameras to prevent crime and monitor growth (5 cameras have been installed).⇔ Create a special “my tree” feeling that only the owner can enjoy. (Making the harvesting process visible to the owners)
Fruits picked in the morning by the growers themselves (the freshest and most delicious) are sent to the owners.
The owner will also receive a processed product made from “out-of-spec product from my tree” as a return, so that the consumer can experience the sustainability of the fruit, and the feedback from the consumer will be reflected in the next project.
Future Development
- We will build a network of multiple producers (grape varieties) and expand the circle of owners.
- We will expand the circle of grape owners by guiding them to become tangerine owners while offering processed tangerine products to grape owners.

Agricultural DX support and IoT analysis support business
Achievements
- Install soil sensors (EC, volumetric water content, temperature), temperature and humidity, CO2, and soil ph. First, KICHIJIEN’s know-how on fruits will be visualized on the cloud (work records are also required at the same time) to enable AI predictive work instructions, shipment forecasts, etc.
- De-personalization of fertilizer management (fertilizer selection and amount applied) and moisture management (manual irrigation) suited to soil conditions based on soil analysis.
In addition, accumulated IoT data and multiple factors such as accumulated temperature, sunshine hours, and high temperature sequences are analyzed by AI to manage growth status forecasts and results, work schedules and results, and shipment forecasts and results in the cloud. (Also considering collaboration with the Japan Agricultural Research Institute (JARI): WAGRI)
First, we will provide a cloud service for greenhouse fruit cultivation (operated for a monthly fee). (about 5,000 yen per farm plus lease of analytical equipment)
Future Development
- We plan to use Salesforce for data collection and visualization tools, but we plan to develop our own AI prediction logic.
- Date and time What is being done at each stage of the process (opening windows, sowing fertilizer, etc.)
- Items being judged: temperature, humidity, additional fertilizer, etc. Based on what?
- Leave “items that people are judging by this”. (Also leave photos of the ground, etc.)
Evaluation items (know-how): What happens if temperature control fails?
What will happen if fertilizer is not applied?
To avoid finding out items necessary for prediction later, decide in advance what kind of analysis you want to do one year later and collect the data.
